VINCENT GIRAUDON
Winemaker in the Côte Roannaise
After obtaining a diploma in Viticulture & Oenology and a degree in Marketing and Distribution of Viticultural Products, Vincent began with just 0.5 hectares of vines, dividing his time between working in the vineyard and working as a chef in the family restaurant “Jacques Coeur” in Renaison. Little by little the vineyard became his central activity, and he left the kitchens to devote himself entirely to winemaking, setting up a cellar in Saint-Alban-les-Eaux, in the Loire.
Having started from practically nothing, armed only with his love of wine and his courage, he is now at the head of an estate of almost 4 hectares planted with Gamay (in red) and Aligoté (in white). He is in fact the only winemaker to have planted this grape in the region.
After 20 years the estate is today 100% organic and the choices he has made in the management of his vineyard shine through in his highly distinctive wines.
